Magic Eden NFTs display explicit content, “Big Bang Theory” images

Images on Magic Eden, the largest Solana-based non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace, displayed pornographic content and popular sitcom series “The Big Bang Theory” on Tuesday Asia time instead of users’ NFTs.

  • Magic Eden tweeted on Wednesday morning that its third-party image provider was compromised but confirmed that the marketplace had not been hacked and that users’ NFTs were safe.
  • A Magic Eden representative told cryptocurrency news outlet Decrypt that it was aware of the issue and fixed it within an hour. It advised users to restart their browsers if they still saw the erroneous images. Magic Eden did not name the third-party image provider out of security concerns.
